Treasurer’s report by Carl McKnight

      Note: The State Board has not notified us about what to do with registration fees

      from the State Meeting.

 

Membership update / Life membership update by Carl McKnight

      Note: Invoices have been sent to counties for district/state association dues!

      Pay up folks.

 

Summary of NCACAA conference by Tyrone Fisher

Comments: Great success, everything fell into budget, all bills paid, good attendance, no significant problems other than two speakers didn’t show for professional development sessions, no softball tournament, ~$330 from auction.

 

Business Updates

·      Make sure Nikki Whatley, A&T specialist on listserve

·      Discussion of life members –we have 44 so let’s invite by mail to district meeting; Richard Bradley and Sam Groce volunteered to handle life members.

·      Ben Chase –Galaxy 2013 due to activities, funding, cost, etc issues it will held in conjunction with National Meeting in Pittsburgh as a joint

·      Jim Cowden would like to remain active with Association even though he’s now a District Director

·      Tyrone Fisher –recommended Sunbelt Expo to all Ag Agents, good education tour

·      Awards are due in Nov or Dec (date TBA) for Young Agent/DSA/AA --–Agents who may apply DSA (Troy, Sam, Wick), AA (Michelle Wallace), YA (Scott Welborn)

·      Secretary asked to report next meeting dates

 

Presentation by Kerr Lake Park Rangers – talked about park facilities and activities on NC side of lake

 

Sponsor Presentation: Smith Insulation - talked about research on closed cell foam insulation in tobacco barn
